Event - Man, Woman and Child, dark-themed traditional songs, 1-2pm
'Man, Woman and Child' is a research and performance project devised and co-ordinated by Michael Fortune in conjunction with the National Library of Ireland and Irish Traditional Music Archive with support from the Arts Council. For Locating the Gothic, singers will perform songs of the supernatural, lost love, violence, death and despair.
Event takes place in the Tower Theatre, the Irish World Music Academy, University of Limerick, 1-2 pm, Wednesday 22nd of October, 2014. Concert is free and open to the public and starts at 1pm sharp. No booking required. This concert has been brought to Limerick as part of the Limerick City of Culture, as part of the ‘Locating the Gothic’ and in conjunction with the Irish World Music Academy. 'Guilty Pleasures: Haunting Whitechapel' Talk by Monica Germana. Opening of Exhibition ‘Locating the Gothic’ featuirng work by Monica Germana, Pamela Heaney, Anne Marie Morin, with special performance by The Cut Out Dolls to the music of composer Martin Corcoran.
Events take place in Tara Building, Mary Immaculate College. Events are free and open to the public. No booking required. Exhibition will run from 22 October – 5 November. For information contact [email protected]

Launch of an edited collection The Gothic and the Everyday: Living Gothic, as part of the Palgrave Gothic series edited by Maria Beville and Lorna Piatti Farnell.
Both editors will be present, as well as a number of the contributors to the volume; David Punter, Tabhish Khair, Kristy Butler and Tracy Fahey.
Event will take place in the Lift Foyer, LSAD at 1pm. Event is free and open to all. No booking required.

Launch of an exhibition of work produced during 24 hour residency held in 2014 at Neo-Gothic castle (and second most haunted site in Ireland) Charleville Forest. A collaboration between students of LSAD and the Burren College of Art.
Project coordinated by Tracy Fahey and Martina Cleary.
Curated by Kathleen Bartlett, LSAD, with special thanks to Marian Sheehan.
